Piccadilly  (1929)

Now Shosho (Anna wong) could dance,
she just needed an honest chance.
In the club where she worked business was down.
A solution had to be found.
The boss wanted Shosho to move from the
kitchen and dance for his Piccadilly show.
It wouldn't be the scullery this time,
it was on the main dance floor, the big time.
She chose her outfit, "I dance in that or not
at all, and Jimmy must play my music,
and be at my beckon call."
"But she can't dance, they'll laugh
at her." other dancers cried.
These were words of jealousy,
they were telling lies.
Indeed she did dance,
and she did impress.
In Piccadilly, the sultry Shosho
became a roaring success.

I have been to Piccadilly square. London is a great city to visit. I have never seen the film, but if I come by it, now after reading this poem, I'll give it a view. Enjoyed!

Thank you for the nice response Opeth...I watched it at the Doris Duke Theatre (Art Theatre) in Honolulu...haven't seen that many silent movies, and not that many I have liked but I really liked this one...James
