There are days
when I want so badly
to crawl back into myself.
Feeling wounded
at not getting what I need.

There are times when I yearn
for something I think is missing.
Not knowing exactly what it is.
Knowing it’s there,
avoiding me.

I look into your eyes
seeing your heart.
Not understanding
why you do some of the things you do.
Is it me?

Do I demand too little?
Thinking if it’s really true
I shouldn’t have to demand
at all.

He loves me.
He loves me not.
He loves me.

Shall I wait
for the other shoe to drop?

"cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind"

should i wait for the other shoe to drop...
no, do a preemptive strike and drop your own shoe first, for a change
dont ever let em see you cry unless you use the tears to make em do something crazy,o, sister,  how i do love to get them to jump over the cliff for me too, for a change now and then
good words, i felt em over here
the crazy games we all play for love
loved your poem

Nice poem
I personally don’t wait for the other shoe to drop

I throw it at the Demon cat
He probably deserves it
But is usually too fast for me to actually hit.

Roaring at Gloom...
and Inked one... for different versions of the same truth :-)

Susan:
Can well relate to these insecurities...as I journey towards discovery.  Should there ever be a need left unmet?  I tend to think not.  Yet, it is our responsibility to meet them all, is it not?

You write so very well.

Oh God, Susan, even you only knew just how much I understand this part right now!! It's like you looked inside my mind....not my heart, but my mind.....

Thank you everyone!

Sometimes shoes drop so softly you don't realize until someone's foot gets cut...and other times you see it falling, thinking it must belong to someone else...

And Gloomy?  I think I need to take a trip up there in about 12 wks to drop off a playmate for the demon cat!
