No Time for Me

There, I see it plain as day,
that is if this was not such a misty one.
Learning that there is no time for me
whether to reminisce in the deep of eyes
or to hear the sounds of breathing,
though faint, even when near.

No hello from lips, nor words that
could melt the air into droplets of feel,
only the waiting that passes into the night
spelling the goodbye in shadows on the wall.

Days, weeks, minutes or seconds
the difference no longer matters.
They all pass just the same.
My world echoes the emptiness,
the wine burning in the solitude of the night.

I've put my smile to sleep and let the missing
sing to my heart all the old tunes
that bring forth illusional beliefs,
allowing the empty to quilt me in the warmth
of tomorrow's promise.

Such a melancholy write dear Maureen..
but, I understand where you're coming from.
And, tomorrow is another day.

allow no clouds to obscure
such beauty, 'tis your heart's
duty to let play a while
even though for now,
loneliness may sing
beg you, set free
your glorious smile...

Touching write, Maureen.

I'd give anything to be able to come up with lines like that...amazing!

so wonderfully well written - poignancy drips from the page - has a strong melancholy flavor - powerful emotions - Paul
