It Is You

If I could tear you from my heart I would.
I would do anything to ease this ache
I live with daily,
this gnawing hunger
that whispers in my ear,
"he is not here, he is not here."

But the wind that rushes by
is the sound of your name.
I reach to touch that sound
and my arms are like water;
empty, fluid,
longing to hold you.
The rich autumn earth
is the color of your eyes;
deep, soft,
watching every step I take.
The taste of rain on my tongue
is the shape of your mouth;
tender, yielding,
forgiving me with every kiss.

If I could ease this ache
in someone else's arms, I would.
But the only truth I know
is that my heart was made
for loving only one other
in all the world.
It proclaims that truth
every night before I sleep,
"it is you, it is you."

once again your words are mirrors.
feeling every word of this expressive write.
Well done poetess Beki.

The ink bleeds through cuz you're paper thin
you're one more fool with a paper and pen
lookin for a poem in the water stains on the floor.

Lost love is always painful. You depict it very well. Maggie

The way you move me
I walk with your shadow
With your silhouette
Leave the light on
It always comes
Back to you

Wonderful imagery here Beky.

Enjoyed.

What are you my god? You touch me like you are my god
What are you my twin? You affect me like you are my twin.
