Moved from a shack to a barn

Here I am
Practicing again

Placing words on a page
In much the same manner
As a child at the piano

Tapping out his exercises
And wondering
If the notes will ever be ordered
Into a meaningful melody

Searching for the right combination
From among the blacks and the whites

And lately
Though, I struggle enough with the melody
It is the meaningful part
That troubles me most

So, I continue rehearsing
For the poem that might say something

Putting words in straight lines
That from a short distance
Might resemble a formation of ants

One hundred and ten small insects
Obscured by their burden

All,
Carrying thoughts of various sizes

Some,
Up to ten times their own tiny weight

Even if i searched for more beauty in your words, i would need a magnifying glass, and in doing so they would surely ignite.

Very cool poem Wranx

Always enjoy your musings Ed, your last line brought to mind a favourite line from a song that reads:

"with an ounce of pain, i wield a tonne of rage"

l@ve that song, l@ve your work keep hitting those keys

An incredibly creative vision!

Ya cheer me up, mon!

I've never read one of your poems that didn't talk straight to my innards, but this one -- especially at this moment, having just lost seven poems to the washing machine -- I wish I'd written.
