If God had given you a few more years
would you have held me, smiled at
me....put me on your knee and told
me stories?

Might you have written a poem and
read it to me, as I smiled into your
blue eyes.

Or perhaps swung me around and
around until we both were dizzy.

What did your voice sound like?  Was
it kind and soothing...or deep and gruff?
Would you have told me you love me,
at least ten times a day?

Strange, but now that I know you a
little bit, just a little bit....

I miss you,   I’m sad that we never
met.  Because I think I would have
loved you, loved you a lot...

Your Grandson

I enjoyed this and your musings.  I never knew a grandfather either.  This is a tender write.  Joyce

Magnus~
This touches me tenderly, for my four children never got to know either of their grandfathers either~

I thank the good Lord that my used-to-be has been able to see and enjoy the arrivals and delights of our two granddaughters~

*Huglets* to you for this beautiful piece~

perhaps in it's own way, this becomes a great lesson for us to witness and make certain we do swing them around until we are both dizzy.

This reminds me of the song, Cat in the Craddle.  Always manages to bring tears to my eyes, along with this heartfelt write.  God speed.  Hugs...Lee J.

I understand this feeling very well..
