Caffeine

I miss her.
I miss her in my world of
      Construction-paper memories.
Where memories are snipped
   And clipped,
And glued to a collage of shapes and colors--
Unrecognizable, were you to see the whole.

Here I spend my days,
While the swirls of colors and scents
      Flow through my memory.

You don't know what it's like
To miss someone until you wake up
In the middle of the night
         And you reach out,
            And no one is there.
Her body was like a drug to me.
I sent me on a high that I never thought
      Would end.
         And now I'm going through
            Withdrawal.
Caffeine, Caffeine,
   *sigh*
      Give me another expresso.

I believe the most important component of a poem is rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of a poem. It is what makes poetry poetry.

The nice thing about being a pesimest is that your either right, or pleasantly surprised.

Ah, just how many of us have been here?  One good thing life goes on, and there are always more pages in the album to fill.   Very nicely written.

Today I'm only moving clouds, tomorrow I'll try mountains.

Nice picture by the way, you look so open and friendly!
