Death’s Birth!
Once upon a midnight furlough:
“Out late was I…”

I heard a heavy sound from beneath the ground
Pounding and pounding, bellowing from the soil
The creature was there, beneath my very feet
Looking for, I was sure, something to eat…

I could not move, frozen, week kneed, in my tracks…
A lump to swallow would not go down,
That is when I fell, helplessly, to the ground.
There I saw it, just inches from my face,
Fingers, a hand… and an arm wearing white lace,
Reaching for me, taking hold of my wrist and arm…

“Filthy SWINE!” I screamed out, “The BEAST from hell!”

But before I could regain my stance, it grabbed and held…
And I heard a growl from under the ground
Something not human and not from this earth!
It had me in a grip, it would not release, and I knew…
it was… death’s birth.

Just then I could hear a faint voice:
“Walter, Walter.”  “Walter, are you alright?”

“Oh… PLEASE”, I yelled at the top of my quivering voice…
”Help!”  “Help me!”

I squirmed, and pulled at the monster from beneath the earth,
Pulling at his fingers, which held me in death’s grip.

“HELP!” again I screamed…

I saw a light, shinning bright in my face; I knew it was someone coming to help,
I just couldn’t wait…
“Get this beast off me”; I whimpered in disgrace,

Weak, from the struggle I gave in, to its chase…
And collapsed straight down and fell on my face.

“Walter”; a soft voice spoke, from behind the light,
“You’re going to be ok, please stay calm.   You’re alright Walter”
“I’m going to give you a shot; this shot will help you relax and then to sleep you will go”;

My eyes shut and I began to drift into silence

“Good night Walter, sleep tight.  We will be back at four...”
I heard the orderly and nurse say, as they shut my padded cell door.

oh, now there you go....you should co-auth with Stephen King!

not to long ago, I saw a similar movie, but she didn't dream it, she was awake the entire time...left you sitting on the edge of your seat...but I forget the name of the movie???? Darn, it was about a woman who was a psychologist who killed her husband...or at least someone tried to make it seem so...she couldn't remember, and so they admitted her where she worked very hard at helping people, excellent thriller! Wish I could remember what it was called?
