Sometimes in these dark days,
more like a mirage than reality,
the promise still appears to be
directly ahead.

Just when I think
that I might make it,
out from under my feet drop.
Try as I might
the wrong road has taken my path
again.

The bridge is broken and from appearance of it
has been for quite some time.
The missing warning signs…
ignorance quite clearly the culprit.

Once again I find myself under
the rubble of where I have been.
Lend me a downpour Lord
to wash away the traces of this-
my directional impairment.

The storm begins to lessen
and as the thunder stops its rolling,
I notice a simple sign
pointing up.

Upon closer inspection of
this elevating indication
I realize that not every arrival
is a finish.

Let me look up, and please Lord
let my feet follow...

"I realize that not every arrival
is a finish."

Isn't that often the way of it, though??? That the light we see is another oncoming train... and we're suddenly again at the bottom of the ditch we've just crawled out of with only cuts and blisters to show for our efforts.

Excellent work, lady... with every write you make faith fresh and present and real. *S*

My problem has been (so many times) that I ignored
the "warning signs" and went right on past them.

A very good write, and I love your sig. That's neat.

gg and bela, you snuck in while I was thanking   so here I go to add 2 more thank you's, so glad you liked

thank you lady...and yep, you hit it...when I was writing, I first put there were no warning signs, then changed it to missing, and then in effort of honesty with myself and God had to put that they were and are there, but it was my own ignorance that missed them...sigh, thank you for reading and sharing

guess that's why I can't post these until I have lived it, and learned it...course this one seems to be a work in progress *smile*
