"Furry little caterpillar,
Crawling down the walk,
I wish that you would stop awhile,
So we could have a talk."

"You must see the world,
In a different way than I,
For my eyes don't see, below my knees,
'Cause my head's up in the sky!"

"Tell me, my little friend,
What is it like down there?"
Frowning, he looked up at me,
~ "Do you REALLY, really care?"

"Of course I do!" I cried out loud,
"I love creatures big and small,
And even though you're tiny,
You're the wisest of them all!"

It held its head up proudly,
Half an inch above the ground,
And as it told its story,
My head spun 'round and 'round.

"You must pay close attention!
But this tale you must not tell!"
It scrunched its nose, in funny pose,
And then it cast a spell!

The world soon spun in circles,
I could not see a thing.
I woke next day, in field of hay,
And on my finger shone a ring!

I tried and tried to remember,
The story that I was told,
But I could not recall, anything at all,
About a tiny kingdom of gold.

The morning sun shone brightly,
And the ring began to glow.
The birds in trees were singing,
While crickets chirped below.

I looked for the little creature,
But the caterpillar I could not see.
I scratched my head, and then I said,
"What just happened to me?"

When I got home, I climbed in bed,
And soon was fast asleep.
In golden hall, in castle small,
Were coins piled ten feet deep!

Where was this land of riches,
Where gold reached to the sky?
I had to find the answers to
"Who? How? Where? What? Why?"

While skipping down the sidewalk,
The caterpillar came my way.
It looked so sad and lonely,
Then softly it did say:

"You have the ring of magic,
Just turn it on your finger.
Your questions will be answered,
Be on your way! Don't linger!"

I said "Goodbye" with tear in eye,
Then heard a sound so merry,
As I turned the ring, my heart did sing,
For there appeared a fairy!

She trilled to me, "You set me free,
From this spell spun long ago.
The ring of gold, from days of old,
Was the key to end my woe."

No longer sad, she now was glad,
And thanked me ten times over.
"For what you've done, there's a kingly sum,
In a field of fragrant clover.

I danced across the meadow,
As if in summer's dream,
And found the chest of golden coin,
Aglow in sunshine gleam.

"Furry little caterpillar,
Crawling down the walk,
I wish that you would stop awhile,
So we could have a talk."

The End

This would make a darling book for children.
I did a book myself from the computer called.. Stories From Grandpa Mouse.
I can see the pictures already. Very creative.

You have an amazing talent of expressing magic.

Go ahead and write that book!

Love and hugs. Margherita

(big angel friendship hugs) Awwwwwwww, oh Linda, I truly believe too many people would be lucky to have an imagination like yours still, as it comes from the heart and is capable of bringing about all that is beautiful and good in the world! (kiss on cheek) Always give your inner-child a hug, yay, the only weapon I ever consider making is a Crayola bomb, a bomb filled with nothing but sugar and rainbows and happiness, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
