Listening to every heart

And You

They
will never know…

how could
They?

Those who will never know that

                                                                               chutzpah
                       ~ Within ~

those who will never understand
                the draw of blank sheets,
                                           begging quills ~
                                           or sounds scratching life…

Oh, they had their ways, once,
to live!

But time
passed by,

hollow,

with
byes! waving them away.

They wrestle with facts
indistinguishable,
harboring ill thoughts that would
tear another away from key desires,
if they could.

But, they will never know…

a pull of tomorrow wrapped with yesterdays shadows
as histories of facts design, shaping
our coming in to
the unknowns…

Yes,
there will be some who will say…
                                           “you devise choices…”

but do we?  Are we all so cognizant
of facts crystallized before us
that we can say
pawn to King, check…

Mate.

I am mated to this world,
literary and beyond, literally…

no giving this up!  No,
I shall search roads
to continue expansions of whole,

yes, a place I should and will escape to,
today, and yes, long ago…

so this thank you comes,
to you, and you, and especially…

you…

for were I to name all poets…and naysayers
who have lifted me in ways so wondrous…
keeping me on enlightened paths,

no, you would never realize
just how blessed
I am.

Yes.

If you read this
it was for you.

And you.

And…

Yes.

Sunshine,

Well expressed thoughts, indeed. I enjoyed the style of your writing, too.  A very nice homage to others, selfless...

I really loved those lines...

This reminds me of the beginning of Lamb Chop's Play-Along.  But only slightly---I thought I'd mention that since nobody else had.

Seems you've covered all the bases with a vague and indirect tribute.  This poem ought to make you pretty popular!

I hope you know we feel the same way about you.  We numerous pawns & bishops & rooks that are being nudged about through literary history, wouldn't be quite where we are without a place like this, a community of like-minded individuals who are after the same thing we are---

It's lovely to acknowledge your devoted people like this, mum... thank you for pointing me in its direction (though I'd have read it sooner or later, with a tacky title like this )

Take care
Brian

There is so much in this piece.  You have to know I love this...every word that builds the message.

You offer us so much, Karilea.  And yes, for you, we offer thanks.

"chutzpah" -- wow, thanks!  Sometimes, I think writing its more like therapy!

Karilea -- you don't know the depth of meaning this holds for me being that I have been criticized all my adult life for spending too much time on endeavors such as this.  My first husband called it "dumb B.S." -- needless to say, I ended up writing a poem called, "When SomeOne Tells Me B.S. Is Dumb."   (The B.S. was, of course, spelled out -- I'm being polite here).           hugs time double to you! ........jo

And You ...
You are beautiful!
Your pen
caresses the sheets
and they play
so beautifully
to your touch
to your inspiration.
And You ...
You are beautiful!

Thank you, dear Karilea, this touches the hearts.
Love, Margherita

Yes,  my fair lady....we all accept such
tribute...though at times we feel the gift
of your eloquence is not deserved nearly as
much as you may write...
