If I died on the
outside
could you still hear
my heart beat?
If I were barely alive
could you save me from
the place my soul began to die?
...
And if I died on the
inside
could you still hear
me speak?
If I were to touch your skin
could you bring me
back again?
...
And if I died on the
outside
could you find
my mind?
If I were to breath my sickness into you
could you drink me down,
swallow me by the spoonful?
...
And if I died on the
inside
could you still hear
my fear?
If I were to drown in your eyes
could you be my paper angel
and pretend life has no good-byes?

enjoyed the entire poem, lovely and soft, tender, but my favorite was the ending

If I were to drown in your eyes
could you be my paper angel
and pretend life has no good-byes?

This is good, touching, so very sad.  Excellent write.

Best to you, and happiness too.
Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
