Last Will and Testament

It was a sultry summer night-
The air was heavy.... filled with a damp musty aroma of heated bodies and tired children.
She walks about the tiny room, pulls the curtains, turns on the air conditioner, the sound,
a low relaxing hum.
Cooling the room she rests her tired head upon a
pillow of satin.
As sleep releases her from her weary day-
She slowly begins to breath easily as she begins to drift into the land of dreams and fantasy.
She hears a light tapping upon the door-
It opens
A tall gentle looking man holds out his hand.
“Come with me my dear let us write your
last will and testament.”
Since this is but a dream this does not seem strange in the land of peaceful fantasy.
“Now how shall we begin?
For you see tomorrow will be your last day upon this earth.
What will be your last words to the living,
my dear?”
Deep in thought for a moment she begins.

My last will and testament-
My darling children I have no worldly possessions
So my words of love I leave written upon your hearts
I will gather you close and praise your spiritual beauty
I hope and pray to the powers that be
That this planet will continue to share its beauty with you my children
If my life must end
Please spread the love I have held within my heart and give to the hurting soul so they may live.

As shadows of evening spread cooling relief, she awakens, walks across the room,
sits before a table of white
and begins to write.
This is my last will and testament.

Love and Hugs
BonBon

BonBon, my, my, I am flattered that my poem inspired you to write this.  My poem, in reality, was about my contrariness and acknowledgement of that to the will and love of the all that is all (God, in my belief system).  But what you wrote here, reflects the essence of that love I was feeling which continues to flow long after we're gone.   ....jo
