Floating high above the sea
»
High above the sea, beyond the cliffs of green and brown,
Through golden rays of sun and light, mist sparkling down.
Gulls all around and high above provide their sound,
as only they can, white and gray they float around.
Always looking and searching, merging on sandy ground,
I wonder what it is they say, this squawking, squawking sound.
A call of warning of impending doom, or, the call for something not yet found?
A bit like you and me, I suppose, being unsure heart filled with love unbound.

Not knowing what surprise might be, floating high above the sea.
»
I search the sky for a cloud to ride, and dream of where it is I should be,
uncertain of what I might find, I float farther and farther out to sea.
My dreams are blended of you and me, together in part of this scenery,
I squint my eyes and pretend not to be, where I am, or where I should be.
»
Floating so high above the sea.

I too enjoyed the flow of this...and the imagery...I just came back from Scotland and this conjured forth images of all the green and the sea...beautiful poetry.

I could picture the scene with the gulls...feel the sounds of sea and bird and the drifting away...have done the same. Lovely poem!
