I've no desire
to dredge memories
long since settled
or stir clouds
of "what once was"

   yet

were my lips
to betray me
and slip your name
from the depths
of a reckless dream
I've nothing to fear
only the walls would hear

Ed darling poet man this is simply scrumptious, the Oh tapped within these lines is outstandingly expressed. I swear I can hear the ache within the unspoken sigh. As for the feelings that this conjures up in my soul it is awesome. YOU are an amazing writer and this is an exquisite example of your artistry. I love the phraseology in this, it is absolutely perfect

Love and warm stuff

Excellent write, my friend... Sometimes we just can't help those strolls down memory lane... even when each step pierces us with pain. Friends might say "don't go there"... but walls won't tattle. *S*

Loved this!  The other night my husband said some words slipped from my lips....he said I was mumbling something and he asked if I was okay.  I responded (still asleep I guess because I have no memory of this), "Yeah, I'm just trying to get the weeds out of my computer."  Weird....our subconscious.   ...jo

Dreams, like a good storm, aren't so frightening
as much as they are something to contend with.

As always, I enjoy reading your way with words,   Edder~

It's often said insincerely around here, but when I say it, it's for real...I do wish I had written this.
