Nocturnal Flutterings

It follows me,
day to night
night to day,
heart poundings
and childhood fears
as it flutters
from the opening of the door
wing spans greater
than in mind shadows
and me...
wondering
how to get through this day
handicapped by reality.

Get yourself a Louisville Slugger,
Have a nice bat to bat meeting,
That will stop the flutter
Of the wings beating

Thanks for the advice...
(but I don't swing too well)

I just went nextdoor to thank the bat removers who are there for gifting me this morning...now to decide if I can  handle staying in or must I leave here today until I get my senses back.

I was going to give you this wonderful advice until I heard "bats!" as it flying ones?  I was out fishing in the middle of a big lake once and there are things called fruit bats apparently - well, I started singing in the dark and found out they navigate by "radar" and if I had shut up and sat still (which if you knew me is almost impossible) they would have flew right by - BUT, oh no ... I decided to scream and wake up the entire population on the circumference of that lake, and turns out they are tiny things, but tell that to someone who cared   They scared the ___ out of me!

Go ahead and shudder, and I will be thinking about you.  Nice chance to go to a local spa and veg out?

Today I'm only moving clouds, tomorrow I'll try mountains.

I like Richard's reply.
I have had bats get in this house twice.
I left screaming...they were caught hanging upside down....eventually.
...then I returned.

I think it's a good place to be, reality, you can always start over again...  No?
Great write!

Somehow, I didn't think this was about bats, but I can see where that works, too.  Anyway, M., I hope the flutterings go away and you get some peace!   ...jo

"wondering
how to get through this day
handicapped by reality." --awesome lines.

I feel handicapped by reality all too often sometimes.

Great write!
