state of confusion

Text-in-a-box is so handy,
so quick! It’s a marvel
to be tapping and talking
to other parts of the world
without waiting for airmail
and licking, sticking of stamps;

like Sanka,
not as satisfying as a real cup of job,
watery and a thin sort of bitter,
but, it’s a marvel!

We are all pretend pianists,
arranging notes into chords that,
when properly grouped,
orchestrate songs and musicals
and symphonies.

Still, there is something to be said
for the anticipation of the next envelope,
that unique curve of a signature;
to finger a lover's leaves and scribbling;
time and miles ferrying friendship or romance
or greetings from a sorely missed brother
from some godforsaken desert outpost.

This is what fills memory boxes.

Oh my how true Corinne!!
Yes..how can we stuff a printed copy of an email into a memory box?
I too miss the excitement of receiving a beautifully hand written letter.
Hugs for this keeper...Nancy.

     It has been a long time, my friend, but you still leave me breathkess with your words.  I love this!  Thank you so much for sharing...

If romance were to be defined by the hand writing in a letter, as it has been for me . . . I'll never find another, I fear.
Truly, nothing equals the reading of the personal letter, or the writing of it, especially when bridging a great distance.
Its demise is to be mourned.

Hi, Corinne! I do know what you mean by this write. There is also a down-side to the expediency and convenience!

I enjoy your writing. I always come away with something special after having seen the world through your eyes!

Big warm hug,
Linda

Thanks Kariliea! Hope this day finds you well, friend!

Thanks Nancy! Yes -- it all seems off sometimes to me. Now we keep letters on floppies!

Awww, Maree, you're so sweet, thank you!

Thanks Iliana!

Thanks Passingshadows!

Terry, so good to see you again! Thank you and welcome back!
