Sunshine sneaks in through my window,
Arousing me into wakefulness.
Clearing the fog from my eyes,
I cloud them with smoke.
I taste the bitter blackness,
An ironic contrast to the new day.
My fingers pressing buttons,
I find my way, and discover forcasted futures,
Five days in advance.
The wind exhales breath of lilac,
And the green of fresh cut grass can be tasted
In the air.
Disturbed silence breaks away,
And padding across the floor is the beast.
I turn to look as she leaps,
Into my lap and purrs.
