Behind the voice of thunder women and children cry
in perfect harmony with compositions from the sky
but quickly bury in the ground the treasure of themselves
before a lightening bolt strikes the core of who they are.

As expected comes the wrath of wind’s almighty gale
and the ground no more can keep the delicate and frail
amongst the many challenges and turn about events
destined still to weight a soul down on mother earth.

Behind the voice of thunder growth catapults the young
swiftly up the ladder of life’s so artful rungs
and the air is fresh and new cleansed by a different view
proclaimed as being authentic by leaders of the weak.

Because the days and years pass alike for young and old
women are then seen again searching for their souls
under rocks and boulders no time has weathered smooth
and in the sea perhaps amongst secrets of the deep.

Behind the voice of thunder dry are the eyes that cry,
the buried treasure not outside but deep down inside!

Sunshine, icebox, and nakdthoughts - Thank you all so much for reading my little story and for taking the time to comment.  "Surging tides of thought" can be overwhelming sometimes.
