~*A Single Rose*~  It’s Valentine’s Day again my dear, I had to write to you and say, Nothing’s changed within my heart, I love you even more today. Our love is like a blood red rose, Just as beautiful when it was born. We have to enjoy all the beauty And see past an occasional thorn. With heart in hand I sit in solitude, My burning love hanging by a thread, Waiting for the phone to ring, Deafened by its silence instead. How I long to feel you kissing me, Anguish makes me feel the burn. The flame of you excites, ignites me, It’s for your gentle touch I yearn. I imagine I hear you whisper Those tender words I long to hear. Soft words that mend my broken heart, Just a simple, “I love you dear.” I find it hard to even breathe without you, For fear this flame inside will surly die. Don't let this Valentine’s Day go by, Come dear, and dry these tears I cry. I forgive you, love you, need you close, Come back, let’s make a brand new start. You complete me my sweet Valentine I offer you a single rose and my heart.  |

Romantic Heart you said it there! Everyone does indeed have a story to tell that should be important to us to learn from. That is what I love the most about poetry - reading between the lines, and trying to learn from people.
