Would You?

What if all the stars burned out,
a long long time ago?
What if we’re on borrowed time,
and we don’t even know?

What if all we had were moments,
till the end was here?
Where is it that you would go?
And who would you hold dear?

What would be your final thoughts,
and who would they contain?
What if every tear we wept,
could take away our pain?

A dream can never be a dream,
if it’s not in your heart
A life can never be a life,
if we are both apart

A poem can never be a poem,
unless it’s from your soul
The end will never be the end,
until you pay the toll

What if forty rainbows came down,
falling from the sky?
What if there were streams of hope,
and wishes floating by

What if everyone we knew,
was taken far away
What if all the dues we owed,
we didn’t have to pay

What if all we had were sunsets,
glistening with gold?
What if we regained our youth,
and never could grow old?

A wish can never be a wish,
unless you close your eyes
A day can never be a day,
unless the sun can rise

A heart can never be a heart,
until we set it free
A love can never be unleashed,
until we find the key

What if every whisper in the wind,
flowed through your hair?
What if every wish we had,
we suddenly could share?

What if every sparkling glimmer,
shimmered in your eyes?
What if now we never had to,
ever say goodbye?

What if all these things,
were in a dream that just came true?
What if I could  not come out?
Would you come with me too?

Hello Richy

This was a truly wonderful piece of writing that posed a lot of questions to ponder over.

"In our life
there is a single color,
as on an artist's palette
which provides the
meaning of life and art.
It is the color of love"

you really have so much beauty and whimsy and majick inside that heart of yours..this is a wonderful wonderful thought (poem)...but i think even if all my wishes could come true, even if i could never grow old, even if all things beautiful would only exist....i think i would prefer to live my life just the way i have been. i only appreciate my dreams because i know the difference.
so if you are willing to sit on the sidelines..we can share a picnic rug

Beautiful, my friend. But I wish with my eyes wide open, and what I wish for held firmly in view.

aaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww, Richy. This was such a sweet poem. I really liked these thoughts:

What if all we had were sunsets,
glistening with gold?
What if we regained our youth,
and never could grow old?

Richy

Wonderful write and so many what ifs...Did you know that what ifs are a great writing tool?  Take an ordinary situation and tilt it with a what if...and off you go.

Enjoyed this, and you.

Sue ~ Dear Sue, how are you doing? Thanks for always having something nice to say. It’s so appreciated.

Dawn ~ Dawn, thank you. That was so nice of you to say that. You are really special to want to live your life the way it‘s gone. Knowing the difference myself, If I could, I would live my dreams, in a heartbeat... lol  Life is wonderful... but I’m sure I could dream it up to be at least a little better. This was just one of those, how much are you willing to sacrifice for love, type of scenario’s. Oh, and that picnic on the sidelines... hey, that sounds like a nice dream right there...

James ~ Thank you James. Yeah, whether or not your suppose to close your eyes when you make a wish, mine are usually open too. Maybe, that’s why they never come true... lol  Thanks Again James, I appreciate your nice comments. I hope all is well

Nancy ~ A big hug to you too Nancy! Thanks for always being there for me. I hope you know how much I appreciate that!

a dream can never be a dream
unless your'e bound to wake.
a life will never be a life
unless the journey you should take.

and maybe you wouldnt need the healing
if dreams could end the pain
but for all the moments suffered till now
their lessons would be left in vain

I read your words and feel their call
of a wish of dreams come true
but even through the sadness and strife
always remember, youre special...JUST CAUSE YOURE YOU!!

thought you needed another hug
...and for love, true love, i would suffer anything, learn from it, and do it again if needed!
its easy to "live the dream", but much harder to "leave the dream" behind...and feel the real grit... i love LOVE because sometimes it hurts so bad i know im ALIVE!!!! and you remember too,how alive you are! and no matter what....i still believe there is an amazing amount of beauty flowing from you...

I like this very much, Richy. *S* So much to think about... *S*

What if all we had were moments,
till the end was here?
Where is it that you would go?
And who would you hold dear?

What would be your final thoughts,
and who would they contain?

I answered this part here. *S* /pip/Forum30/HTML/000480.html

Suthern, thank you so much for that

I hope you don’t mind me copying your
poem, that you linked here?

It was amazing!

And, I just wanted as many
people to see it, as possible.

Moments

“If I have but a day
Let me spend it with those I love
Memorizing faces
Visiting places
That dry the tears with smiles.
If there's only an hour
Let me hold your hand
Try to understand
The miracle that graced my life
When I met you.
And if my time is over
I pray that it is you
My eyes last see.
For if your voice I hear
I know I'll have no doubt
That heaven's near.”

~ Suthern

When it comes down to it,
- besides, our children -
it is that one special person,
who we would want in our arms,
holding us, during our last breaths,
and the final beats, of our heart.

Who has made the biggest impact
in our life. And who’s love, will
always travel with, and be a part
of our soul, wherever, we may be...

Well... my two cents, anyway...

Thanks Suthern

This was truly wonderful!
