When all I can say is I love you
When all my other emotions are lost..
The three words quieten us both;
Thinking of those we have lost.

Who we have loved,
Why we adore to be their victims-
addicted to the pain that they cause.

Which has now turned to longing.
Aching. Having easily forgotten,
the hateful pain
that was caused.

Leaving me feeling,
empty,
alone,
without you.

This hurts and reflects a situation too often known in relationships.
