Fire flickering in peaceful sight
Embers of red, shades of dancing light
Eyes that take in, but do not see
For through the flames, you do flee

Drifting from the close of room
As tapestry of life clicks on the loom
To touch the weave of ever before
With memories swirl, through past’s door

As if only yesterday, you saw the smile
And thought of times of linger while
Fresh and warm as the summer breeze
You drift along in heartstrings tease

In youth and health you did abide
Back on the paths where you did stride
Wondering on the route you took
If it been different with another look

Then you smile as the fire does play
For the choices made along the way
Some were good and some were bad
But better to smile than feel the sad

The warmth you feel as you bank the coal
Is more inside where dwells the soul
For always behind the red siren’s call
Is the door to the past in memory recall

Ah dear Logan, so good to have you home.
I had better watch myself or I will have
copied the entire piece while looking for
my favourite lines.
Beautifully penned..you are missed.
What was, is, and is, ever was
and ever it be, as ever it does..
