Lost in thought

Warmed iron,
Red upon my tongue.
Dizzy…
With a dry cry.
Falling down
To feel my flesh
On harder ground.

I don’t mind
Thoughts of dying young…
Sighing, one too many times
To live.

But please, take me
In spite of what I never was…
Spare Him, God…
He loves.

He was a man of sorrows
...I am a girl of tears.

A dramatic outcry. Despair is felt.
Where there is love, there is always hope.

GG~

I have read this a few times.  I'm drawn to the words, and they make me feel very desperately that there is some decision to be made by another.  But I can't exactly prescribe a translation to it.  Regardless, your word choices are very detailed, and keep me reading again and again.

McLean,
I'll explain some... the first stanza just describes how I'm already unhealthy, the second says that it would be ok for me to die young since I am so unhealthy, and the third is just a plea to God... He's the one with the decision and I'm just asking Him to take my life instead of the life of my friend since he has such a strong love for someone. Thank you for your reply and taking the time to tell me what you thought of this, much appreciated

iliana,
maybe, but certainly not like him... thank you, though...

GG -- I just wanted to say that after reading your last reply here, it is as I suspected from reading your poem.  I did not believe you were talking about someone you were in love with, rather for some reason (which I did not understand then but do now)that you were praying for someone elses life.  GG, you do have love (it is within yourself), I can tell that from the grace with which you write -- even the painful ones and your words touch everyone who reads them.   .....hang in there, jo

GG, I knew you were someone out of the ordinary when I read your first post.  You share so much compassion in your writing in your own unique way.  I could tell that this was a GG poem without even seeing your name attached!  Keep up the writing, and take care.  You're very good, you know?

jo,
you really are precious. Thank you for your thoughts and cares. And yes, its not someone I'm in love with, but rather someone I love as family. A young man dying too soon. And the peak and depth of my love could never reach the distance of his. I just wish I could take his place... Again, thank you for your kind reply.

Sadie,
I wonder if that's a good or a bad thing lol. I'm not sure the words I express are really that of a poet, and certainly not of a good one if they are. But they are that of a heart and so I say them, pen them, cathartically tear them from myself in hopes that somehow it might ease the sting. And it does some, after extracting roots deep embedded in my mind and heart, bleeding them through me... it's just nice   thanks so much for your reply.

I must be depressed today lol I'm terribly longwinded and probably am making little sense. Thanks for reading anyway.

Always, Alyssa

Noah,
Of all the things people can do, and say, and even mean... to pray is of the most value to me right now. Because only God can fix this. So thank you so much, you're always so kind.
