Visiting Earth on a Guest Pass

The clouds do not wait;
they slip through the horizon,
leaving us alone.

And they landed on Kansas.
Thanks for sending them...
we're receiving the moisture
we're so thirsty for...

Beautiful poem, Ed.

Yes, me too I feel the clouds sometimes as a beautiful presence..... the white ones especially!
You convey a sense of belonging to the Whole.

RatL, hi there -- I've been out of pocket for about a week (under deadline).  I have to tell you, though, that this senryu struck me a being very simply profound!   ..jo

The clouds are a soft billowing as they pass,
like everything else though,  they never last.

When I was a kid I wanted to sleep there,
wishful thinking huh?

Hope all is well with you Ratleader~

RatL.
maybe this is way off, but Cloud #9 comes and goes...to Kansas I read!   It's good
to read your work again.  You have your own unique style/styles that are well liked here.

Ed...This can be read on more than one level...but it felt a little sad to me.

But were they deserting... or being discreet? *G*

I've read this several times in several ways... and like every path it takes my mind on... whether I find poignancy or privacy... or simply an incredible capture of a moment in time. *S*
