In an aisle that once held, valentines, plenty:
Don Juan, I ain't , this eve, that's for sure,
Just another forgetful, typical savage
That paces the card-counter floor  (last minute)
When all of the good slots, show shadows of empty.
*
The flower shops barred-up, at five-o'clock;
Supermarket mums, and pink carnations
Wilt in metal-sleeve caskets;
It's then I find it, one perfect, red rose
Alive in the center of rotting torinias,
(I would pay the full price I supposed)
*
I love you, I do, so I thought I might write you,
A romantic poesy , a ditty, or two, ( but Pablo
wrote much better, romantic novels)
So a sonnet of his I would chose...
I copy the lines of the heart swelling verse
All penned by the master, sign my name
On the bottom, (giving the bard, credit due)
(But back to the rose, that I bought, stanza two)
*
The lines are Chilean, and so is the rose
Picked from a garden where summer is winter,
And lovers share Valentine roses and kisses;
Sitting park benches, pitching warm woo..
*
I pick up the flower and pin it to prose,
Place the love tokens, in the palm of your hand;
That show you have over me, loves warm dominion,
(Hope is they'll show what this poor savage planned)

This was lovely, I very much liked the change of meter throughout the poem.

Everyone should borrow a petal from
this rose of a poem.

Well done, Sir.
