Remember The Alamo

Under seige,
we wait.
Any day,
any night,
might be our last.
But before then
the fight.
We only want
to do what's right.
Gen. Santa Anna thought
we'd turn tail
and run?
Not so...
United we stand
or die for Texas.
Remember the Alamo.

I refreshed my historical knowledge, finding:

Alamo: A church built after 1744 as part of a Spanish mission in San Antonio, Texas, and converted to a fort in 1793. During the Texas Revolution against Mexican rule it was besieged (February 24 to March 6, 1836) by the Mexican army, who killed all 187 members of the Texas garrison.

That's sad, James. But as you say they did not run ...

Appreciated your different topic!
Love, Margherita

I never forgot it, Dear James! I swear I must have lived it! No book or movie has ever affected me so deeply! I break into sweats just thinking about the Alamo! Now you've got me breaking into another sweat!

As Bob Hope used to sing, "Thanks for the memories" ~ NOT!!! lol
