Part to Smile

Oh! That most wondrous smile-
that parting of those lips,
shames beauty by so many a mile.
So many a mile? Nay does eclipse!

For such a sweet melodious tune,
rolls from such sweet a place-
bleeds so lightly from the moon,
and flows so sweetly to my face.

Such is the sound from thine voice,
that is dearest to this heart;
may this heart from life, a choice-
upon thy own passing, life will part.

For such a face is dearer to me,
than strifeless life held in esteem;
that for such a smile or such a beauty-
these eyes had only but a dream.

So please, oh please, just one more time-
let those crimson lips part to smile;
so lust may not live a loveless crime,
and fleet from thee all the while!
