Poets starve on street corners with outstretched hands.
God, have mercy! I despise the sight of the page
where metaphors are recycled like aluminum cans
for a nickel a piece, but hardly make enough change
for me to buy beer (and I used to consider my verses
priceless). While you invest your time into money, blind
to beauty, trying to stuff your wallets and purses,
the muses are laboring and you pay them no mind.
My soul is swollen with unanswered prayers,
my words fall flat like a soldier’s lifeline,
I wake up every morning to the eternal grayness
that spreads like incense smoke over the skyline.
My closest friends are scattered throughout the centuries.
Try to make sense of the words they’ve left to remain in touch.
No, these aren’t poems you read, these are journal entries,
timeless and beautiful, treat them as such…

(sigh) I think this is true about many, who are starving artists desiring to get their pay, but I personally just enjoy having fun writing as it is a joy to me and I believe that is how writing should be approached, and if the opportunity comes along where you are honored for it, that is a bonus! (sigh) This is a powerful conviction you make in this journal entry, dearest friend, sell-outs or not, we are ALL poets, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Andrey, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Ok

McLean wasn't here, because I'd never read someone's journal.

Your last two lines...
say it all.
My friend tells me my poetry isn't poetry,
they are pieces excerpted from a journal.

She may be right.

Thank you, Sir.

Andrey~
When I read you ... I come away from these forums with a clear understanding of what 'journal entries' are supposed to do~

'My soul is swollen with unanswered prayers'

This line is simply to die for~

And now I am poetically sated~

EXCELLENT ... and it's WONDERFUL to see you~
