a year maybe more
since poetry fell
from fingers gone calm
warm clear breezes
washed chaos away
never for long enough
school was primary
now it fails me
I can't find focus
peace is barely daydream
words once strung together
fall off tarnished threads
a rickety mess of garble
tossed out of loss
so much loss lately
so many missed goodbyes
i fear hellos
beg no forgiveness
words and i parted ways
when i stood on my own
now i crumble to floor
searching for words long gone

A secret place high atop the forest hills and valleys touched by all you have been and content to be all that you are.

you never parted ways

you are just walking circles around them, planting seeds of flowers that will sprout gardens in the midst of them...they are still there

love you muchly

With all that has occurredin my life recently, this very well could have been written by me too. I connected with every word.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels this way. Thank you everyone for your support.

Love you too sis.

I was a poet once and now I flounder in shallow water searching for my lost voice.

I turn back to poetry, when times get tough, like an old friend that sometimes is taken for granted.

I turned back this time and she was gone.  I swear, I have no idea where she went.  I could've sworn I left here right over there.  Huh...

Very nicely written, you struck a chord with me!

There are thoughts which are prayers.
There are moments when, whatever the posture of the body,
the soul is on its knees.
