                    The Half-Light

                    I talk to the walls
                    at night
                    and to sleepy plants
                    awakened by my fright

                    If it were the day
                    I would be wondered about
                    at best
                    or dismissed

                    More likely the casual
                    half-hearing
                    assuming ears
                    would add their
                    own made-up story
                    and finish my sentences

                    To my feedback
                    amusement
                    I puzzle those eyes
                    and wonder if
                    I am just another poem
                    to be remembered
                    only by its first line

one spark from
a match will make
the silence of
the darkness break
and the melody
of a lullaby
starts from
a single sigh
notes dance from
wax by design
a symphony started
from it’s first line

Krawdad

In the night there are many things that listen.  Loved the whimsy in this, and the touch of forlorn.

I liked the use of half-hearing in your poem.  I think that must be among the biggest problems in the world today.  If people only really listened, oh my!

(big hugggsssssss) People just don't listen is the problem, they only hear what hey want to hear and that is the source of so much deception and sorrow in the world! (sad sigh) I wish stillness of heart for you, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Krawdad, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

A very big subject....The poem's brevity adds greatly to its effect on the reader,,,good use of few words to cover the theme of the poem...

I really loved to read it.
Actually I've been feeling like throwing such a message lately. You did it in a wonderful way.

A poem that expressed itself from deep inside of you. These are the best types to read in my opinion. I truly adored this one.
