I've left my footprints in many places
And I wonder if they're still there
Wish I could travell same path over
'Cause I've got good mem'ries to share

I was travelling all by myself
Wich I prefer the most of all
Hopping in and out some houses
In that late, but still hot Fall

From Cape Cod to Boston and Philly
I've met Poets with loving care
They've showed me their special places
And I got precious mem'ries to share

I left my footprints near Dicken's Raven
All stuffed up but special to've seen
I saw the woods of Pensylvania
Where thirtyfive years ago I'd been

I travelled by train the way down South
Fished in Florida's seas somewhere
Too hot for my taste but still enjoyed
Again I got gorgeous mem'ries to share

I've met the loveliest people Poets
Friends for life I dare call them now
Wish I could return their hospitality
But I surely wouldn't know how

I've left my footprints in hearts of Poets
I know they'll keep them in their care
Because those days of the Poets meeting
Left us all with warm mem'ries to share

Wish I could do it all over again
Thanks my friends for giving me those precious moments in memory

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

You left your footprints here for sure
But they left me a bruise.
Be careful with those footprints
When you wear Dutch wooden shoes!!

You're always welcome here, my friend.
I'll take you by the hand
And watch you leave those footprints
Here in Florida's golden sand.

It makes me realize, not only do we leave our footprints in physical places, but we live them in the hearts of the people we encounter. Either they are lightly set, or heavily imprinted.  thank you for sharing

And do you still have
some little red slippers
from a poet you've yet to meet?

they sound like peaceful, soothing, vivid memories to me... great feeling in this... it brings out the reminiscing in me...

i like your use of contractions. they're groovy...atypical, but in synch. love em!

Muted, thanks

Balladeer,
If you are taking me by the hand
And watch my foot print deep in sand
Be sure to bring some cheese and wine
Cabernet Sauvignon will be just fine

Melodius_Silence, yes we sure leave our footprints in the hearts of those we love

Sunshine, look....

I've kept all the gifts, didn't even eat the sweets. It's my lucky shoe you know.

Passing Shadows, thanks

Ethan Halo, atypical? yes that's me for sure

Liz, my dearest friend, I've spend the most beautiful time in your house and in your woods. It was an honor meeting you and I often smile when I think back to the time you left your key in the car and closed it.

OhSweetDarlingLady~
Those footprints are ALL OVER the meadow, the yard, the ocean, and definitely my heart~

YOU are to come back ... you hear me ?
We've got nature scenes to see .... AND everytime the train goes by (which is almost hourly) ... I never fail to think of you~
AND THAT'S THE TRUTH !!!!!

Hey .... eat those candy-covered almonds ..... they are the BEST~

Make me reminisce bunches just looking at that stash !!

Love you, dearest one~

This is a darling poem. I have your footprints in my heart, I know. And I have your picture on my den wall, too.

Titia, what a collection!  I doubt I would eat anything so sweet myself...especially when it's wrapped up so well.  Those are very magic shoes, you know...they can take you anywhere!!!

All you have to do is believe!

Titia, I do believe you left footprints on every poets heart on that trip.
I'm so sorry I coulnd't make it, but maybe the next one.
