How Does One Progress

The heart becomes fragile
Old love songs are played
How does one progress
As yesterdays smiles fade

Why do I constantly rewind
Allowing my mind to replay
How does one progress
From feelings of yesterday

This continued reminiscing
About those days gone by
How does one progress
For without him I cannot fly

I linger upon the memories
To which he played a part
How does one progress
Until I mend a broken heart

A very touching poem. Sad, yet very artistic. The use of recording related words depicts the replay of memories. Not depressing at all-- more so, comforting.
