Windmills

In the windmill of my mind
Grinds the millet of a kind
Moments of my planted cast
All the grain of fields of past.

Bags of all my memories dust
Sacks of all my living lust
Tied and stored within the core
Bags and sacks of evermore.

My spirit turns the blades of thought
Aged upon a stage I wrought
Mixed with seasons in a blend
To sail the river to its end

And with the main reality
I salted in banality
Fixed a wish of fancy lie
A little dish of cherry pie

Forgive me friends this voice of muse
The pies I like a choice of choose.

Delightful read this morning Sy.

Hugs to you and your bride ...

Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

Good morning, T-Man!

Salting your life with a bit of banality has only added some spice to your beautifully seasoned life!

I really enjoyed this latest gift from your pen!

Huggums,
EA

A very fine piece...so much in there that displays a life lived...love the line about the "stage" and the ending is delicious!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Hmmm is that what they mean when they say someone has "baggage"??? well written my friend, much enjoyed.

Since this is an open forum I'll not say what kind of pie I prefer...

Now you've got me thinking that Cpat
should be coming along soon with some
river stories...

so turn the blades of thought...
