The Gift the Cat Left at the Back Door

Just a bit of down
and the pounding of a heart
a willow wind
that’s gone wings
with message silent sing

The magic weeping of a forest
see  I am full of trees
their naked branches are caught
in the charring of a thought

Across the path
the color notices the ridge
and the down sky melts just is
not a portent to the past
only fire and rain
and the reality of time
gone too fast

I cannot weep anymore
this memory so sweet
a song is in still listen
born of time and mine to keep
still falling with the end
you stole the final clinch
but left the journey
and the everlastingness
---------
In memory of Michelle

Martie, although not the 21st there quite yet, it is here and I've sat in silence and prayer this morning with thoughts of you and Michelle.

I love you

A message, a thought
can come in so many ways

I’m so glad, this one came Martie

A message from afar,

A message, held so near...

Blessings to you Martie

Your title made me smile... it's an expression I've heard before... but rarely does it carry such beauty. *S*

So much under the quiet surface of this poem....the way yours almost alway are. Write it out of you, sweet lady, and send it here.

Martie
It always amazes me, how you can take such a sad theme and turn it into such a beatiful thing as this poem..
But then again by reading your poetry, I should be used to that by now....
I enjoy how you turn words into visuals and feelings.
