MIRC: Care to Chat?

Once upon a precious time
Not so long ago
Two distant souls met
In this wired contraption called technology.

Searing barriers of space and time,
They held hands and kissed the sweetest kiss
The way only souls can do
It was as warm and real
As virtual-ity could afford.

but that's why I get sad about virtual encounters..to me it's just another testimony of how superficial people really are..good topic to write on and enoyed the thought of what virtuality can and cannot do.

(me, jumping up and down, raising my hand, screaming, "me, me, ME")

I met my husband through this media, and you are so on target, my friend!  I love this part:

They held hands and kissed the sweetest kiss
The way only souls can do

EXCELLENT!

I, too, met the love of a lifetime , thru the net,,,,,and , he is in no way superficial or fake,,,,,,,its been 8 months since we physically met,,,,a scant 3 weeks before that we first said hello online,,,,,I had heard alot of horror stories,,,but, as with all I do,,,,I take no ones opinion as gospel truth
wonderful write,,,,much, much enjoyed and appreciated
Michelle

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

I have known a few people that have met in this manner and when their heart is broken the pain is very real. Is it not? No cyber space feelings that go away when the computer is turned off.
Interestin poem.

thank you for the replies! Technology has indeed affected the way people communicate, and the way people begin and end relationships too. I mean, just look at us now in the forum! If only poets in the Rennaissance had the net, I wonder what they might have done, and written.
