Better For You

of all the things
you did or said
to hurt me
the fact that
I was just one
of your regrets
hurt me the worst
I never really did
ever learn to
let go of
things I had
un-questionably
opened up to
and pressed tightly
and close to
my heart
maybe
the truth is
I don’t have
the courage
it takes to
admit I can
feel this deeply
or that hurt can
go this low
so better for you
in not joining me
as I skate
on thin ice

yes...there are enough reasons to feel unworthy…but somewhere…there will be a feather from an angel…that will float into my hands that will not fly away
