The Death of a Friendship

Friends,
Sharing secrets and spreading laughter,
Contagious smiles and endless hugs.
Nothing and no one could ever come in-between,
Or that’s what they think.
Enemies,
Distributing glares and fabricating rumors,
Infectious hatred and never-ending anger.
Something and someone did come in-between,
And no one can change that now.
Strangers,
No feelings, no emotions, no cares.
Too much has gone on to overlook,
But they try to forget anyway.
No eye contact, no acknowledgement, no thoughts,
Nothing.
What happened to this friendship?
All can’t be forgotten,
Too much has been said and done.
Bittersweet memories flood the mind,
And the heart drops.
Not anything can breathe life into what is now…
Deceased.

i really like your poetry, and i like how it doesnt rhyme!! have you ever wrote a poem that did rhyme? i think if it came from you it would be awesome, you should do one in the future on womanism or self destructing attitudes. i dont know it would be interesting to read. thats all i have to say keep up the good  work

wow.now that got me thinking.what if all those deep friendships that one thinks is unshakeable ends up like that?but if this was based on a true story, dont let the friendship just die like that.try to revive it.a very good poem!

yes a frienship ending is always a low and sad spot in our lives, very painfull. I liked the way you described this piece as if you were walking us through a story in a kind of abstract way, nicely done!

Because of you I laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and cry a little less
