Society's Persecution

Step after step
put one foot in front of other
don't listen to the insults
listen to your heart
You've made it to the doorway
your eyes filled with tears
the taunts are rising now
their hate filling your lungs
you struggle to breathe
to get out of this hell
Why do they persecute you?
simply for what you wear
cut your wrist, can't they see
don't they bleed what you bleed?
Times of segregation are coming
times of seperation are following
when the lines are drawn
tell me whose side will you be on?
People hate what they do not understand
they choose to ridicule those who stand out
those who have individuality
and don't give into conformity.
So answer this one question
why must you label me?

This had a really strong message and it's really sad that someone is segregated because of who they are, but unfortunately it happens far to often
