Through the night, the storm rages One of misled hopes, failed quests Breaking of dawn. Desperation let out Deserted, broken hearted been like this for days Just never realized what I thought was blessed Would really doom me for life, put me in doubt For trusting one person I was led, astray She told me she was true promise we’d be friends But now when time comes to be the one I need She doesn’t answer my plea, just looks away I thought after heat of the storm broke friends till the end Lightning streaking across the sky makes our creed Of friendship seem not to matter the ground cracks Raindrops pelt anything left to the storm Floodwaters run swift all through out the streets A storm of pain, of what I should have seen, hurtful acts How she said she had, but pretended to reform Change start over I though maybe we weren’t beat Yet, the storm goes on through the night Nature’s fury hurls itself on us Innocent people, living lives Only to stop briefly, then back in spite Returning to its terror, turn us to dust Anybody is swept by its floodwaters, bringing demise I was pulled in, because I thought She was sorry, and would try to do better Maybe I was right to listen, I could have been wrong Our friendship to sustain is one for which we fought Both wanted it to work, maybe it did, just not by the letter We both tried, and still are, through the storm we still have to be strong Through the storm, things come hard won Our friendship was that, and strong after what we went through Fights, and worse, backstabbing, half betrayal, false words Even now, things are still coming undone We may have to restore, what is breaking, retrieve anew this year we worked to fix, yet some still bring back what were Trying to diverge our friendship, that was done to many others, once All this year, not succeeding, we fought back, refusing, now finally? Are they, maybe, feels like they are, now, dividing us, tearing apart? Dredging back, forcing us remember, what happened, how it was We already went through that, all the revenge, eye for an eye Neither of us wants to make each other pay, not much but a start Through the night, battles have been fought, some won, some lost Fighting time, growing up, we fought the inner core of this tempest There was always someone, trying to destroy what we made an effort to restore When we asked them, to knock it off, we told them they better stop Each time I learned to trust my friend again, there was a new test I think maybe, that after all we fixed in our hearts, to heal there is more Through the night, through the storm, during the thunder We will hold out, at least I will try, but still it won’t be an easy fight I think though, maybe she wasn’t telling me the truth, was I tricked Into being her friend again, a flood of emotions, a torrent of wonder That I may haven fallen for it, possible belief, through the night Storming into my heart, a coldness that settles, this conflict Has the character, flaming personality of an explosion Bursting lights shooting up in the cold night air Beautiful to see but a terror to be a part of Storm water seeping in, as I fill with emotion Of what I don’t know, of what once was there I look through the cracks, light trickles in from above The rain stops falling, This storm is over, just this one It will be back, in full force, when it comes, I won’t just surrender I will be here waiting, prepared to stand tall and fight, I won’t be outdone Through the storm, through the night I look ahead to what is to come I see the present, I see a beckoning light. |

I think the only reason no one's replied to this one yet is cause it's long. I do however LOVE your rhyme scheme :-) at first I didn't think there was one, but you did an amazing job rhyming the first second and third lines of every stanza and still making the point. I hope more people reply to this one, it's very clever and very good when it comes to images. Keep it up! myspace username-beautiful_tragidy |
