if i cut you in two
i would multiply my heart.
your half is my whole-
two parts, one soul.

your weaving symmetricality
is fascinating to see-
from toes to ears
and eyes to knees
you are exactly the same both ways.
i could fold you up
and trace you,
cut you from paper
or outline you with string.
it doesn't matter if
i don't draw you exactly,
or if i don't stay in the lines
because there is so much more to you
that just what i can see.

for every piece of you
there is a matching piece of me.
