These are all for my little man, the baby in the picture with me... Hope Y'all like!!

"A boy or a girl"
Published in Reflections

A tiny, fluttering heart ~
Can be seen on the screen
Tears fill my eyes
As I see my baby ~
For the first tyme
Still to small to tell
A boy from a girl.

A month later ~
The heartbeat is heard
For the first tyme
Again, tears fill my eyes
As I hear my baby ~
For the first tyme
Not much longer
Till we know
A Boy or a Girl?

Harvey’s Birthday
Written on December 6, 2003

Lying there on the couch, waiting
For any sign that it’s coming.
Getting anxious ~ I’m due today
Suddenly ~ a twinge ~ nothing new
Been having them for the past month
Lying there, twinges getting closer
Wondering if this is it
I close my eyes and wait ~
For another twinge ~ there it is

Out at the store ~ twinges are close
Watch revealed every five minutes
And lasting one and a half
In the back of my mind ~
Thinking “My god, this is it.”
At home, lying in the bathtub
He tells me I gotta get out
And that it’s coming soon
A twinge hits, as he helps me out

“Let’s get to the hospital”
On the way, twinges getting close
Only they’re not twinges now
Pain in my lower back and belly
At the hospital nurse says 3 cm
She puts me on a monitor
“Your contractions are 3 minutes apart,
If you want, you can go for a walk,
Just be back within an hour”

Walked to the waiting area
Twinges getting unbearable
Squeezing my dad’s hand ‘til it ends
Sitting there, wanting to cry
Starting to feel hard pressure
Mom and dad tell me to get back ~
To let the nurse check me again
She looks up, smiles “Hun, you’re at eight”
All I could say was “Oh my God”

“Call the doctor, she’s getting close”
As Dr Nathan walks in ~
The nurse tells me I’ve almost made it
It’s too late for the epidural
Whimpering at the thought of that
The nurse reassures me greatly
By telling me the hardest parts over
The doctor looks up and smiles
“I’m going to break your water”

A huge gush of water ~
Followed by the urge to push
Lying on my side, the pain seems gone
Replace with the pushing reflex
With two or three good pushes
The head is out ~ and a hand
The doctor grabs the hand and waves
Saying “hello mommy ~
Just one more good push for me.”

One last push and my baby’s here,
They place it on my belly ~
It spreads its legs and

Twenty Two Fast (But Long) Months
November 8, 2004

Twenty-two months ago, that second pink line appeared
Twenty-one months ago, I saw a beating heart on the screen
Twenty months ago, I heard that tiny heart beating loudly
Nineteen months ago, I felt a jolt in my belly, you kicked me
Eighteen months ago, I saw a tiny hand clasp itself tightly
Seventeen months ago, I realized life won’t be the same
Sixteen months ago, we could see your movements
Fifteen months ago, we were loving you more each day
Fourteen months ago, we celebrated your upcoming arrival
Thirteen months ago, you had us in wonder ~ waiting, waiting, waiting

Twelve months ago, you gave me your first smile
Eleven months ago, you had your first Christmas
Ten months ago, you laughed in your sleep, and I cried
Nine months ago, you laughed at almost anything
Eight months ago, you sat up by yourself, and blew raspberries
Seven months ago, you discovered movement…
Six months ago, there was no stopping you
Five months ago, you stood up all by yourself
Four months ago, you took your first steps
Three months ago, you finally got your first tooth
Two months ago, those teeth just kept coming.....
One month ago, we celebrated your first birthday.
These are all for my little man, the baby in the picture with me... Hope Y'all like!!

Have you ever heard that "No shirt, No shoes" rule? My question is...Why doesn't that rule include pants?
