My own world

I wrote this for my dad to give to him on Father's Day. Let me know what you think!

Big Protector

From the grasps of childhood,
onto my teenage years,
you've always been there,
to chase away my fears.

From the monsters under the bed,
to comfort after a bad dream,
you were there for me,
no matter how hard life seemed.

Through the sibling rivalry,
I've always been your little girl,
the one who went to you,
when so roughly life would swirl.

Now I'm no longer little,
I'm no longer afraid,
of the little monsters,
I have bigger fears today.

The monsters are now gone,
replaced by decietful guys,
I've grown our of childhood
into a world of lies.

Now it's not the monsters
you are watching for.
You're watching out for my heart,
protecting me even more.

You're my one and only dad,
and that you'll forever be,
my big protector,
always watching out for me.

-Erin
