The point of no return

0 posted 2004-07-18 12:04 PM

My thoughts are churning in my head.
Twisting, colliding, incoherent.

The anger bubbles up inside,
A burning pain within my chest.

My mind goes numb, like it’s disconnected.
I have no control over my own hand.

My face is calm, frozen.
I build a wall around my heart.

Bigger! Thicker!
It doesn’t stop.

I go through the motion
Mechanically, a pretense.

Put on a show, don’t let them suspect.
Smile and nod like a puppet on a stage.

Attached by invisible strings,
Directed by invisible hands.

My own walls close around me,
Breathing becomes hard.

It feels like I’m suffocation,
My world smothering me.

My vision goes dark
I’m falling, falling.

Spiraling downward, forever down
Into the black abyss of my mind.

This is one that isn't a song for the band, just me being pissed.  Yet again, glad you like it. This is one that I have published.
