Pink bubblegum land

I watch the turquoise simmer,
beyond, behind, it blurs darker hues,
and the bubbles lift as I push
myself down. At the rear, sand covers
my traces. One finger nimbly picks the shell
before the sandstorm follows my webbed feet.

A permanent crunching sound echoes,
between the cigarette burns of sea.
It would be easy to just sway here,
waiting in blankness, despite my ears"'"
screech for surface return.

Old fears return yet of sharks
emerging from nowhere,
and lacking strength in the nightmare,
to move from this resting place.

You have some real genius here. Thanks for the read.
