He said this was happiness
Said the world could be all mine
A roll of tape and 3 weeks later
“You can’t trust anybody”

This light is sure and burning
The basement is wet, with dissimulation
His laugh is quickly growing
But I don’t even care
I’m just worried that I never said goodbye
Because it’s you that matters

This river my only friend now
It holds me in its cold hands
I can almost see the city lights
I can almost remember
“this is happiness”
I never knew he would be so right
If I could write goodbye
On this bleeding sky
I would say:
“The only thing I’ll miss is you,
But I’m quite alright,
We’ll meet again sometime
And that time will be better
Than the last.  Ask no questions
You’re gonna’ be alright.”

Mad_Hatter, nice write. How did this one slip by. Real nice lines in this one.

A roll of tape and 3 weeks later
“You can’t trust anybody”

Especially this line. It doesn't get any more original than this. Outstanding.

If nothing is something
then everything is
our thoughts and feelings
and all that exists.
