Shifting Visions

I had a dream, but that dream has now flown from me.
A heart filled with inner turmoil, pain and eventual apathy.
Crushed, filleted, speared, seared cannot compare to the price paid.
Shaking, breaking, dieing all appears like a comforting happiness.

Her body still free of sin, the mind all but let it begin.
Manipulative intentions kept silenced in devious goodness,
Eventually revealed by a striking of consciousness.
Warnings were headed, this student paid too much for this lesson.

His heart broken, but this fracture will heal.
In time his caring forgiveness will bring everlasting peacefulness.
Still loving and caring his trespasser, he extends his arms,
Taking into them the best reason for living.

He understands her weak heart and careless reactions.
He understands her inability to release the past painful infractions.
One year in the making the final test is upon him,
Can all his planning materialized in her retraction.

She doesn’t understand his hearts purpose.
Not believing why he would still stay apart.
Yet from the beginning he was planning for this part.
Now is the time he can reveal his great plot.

Waiting for a phone call, a sign of remission.
A call that will change her controlled position.
Patiently waiting alone in the dark,
Feeling helpless, hopeless and down.

Starting to believe his love was a farce.
A faint familiar sound emerges from the dark.
She made the first step to trusting his heart,
This time she will let him hold her fragile heart.

She asks, “Why do you continue to take this rejection?”
Minutes pass in silent anticipation.
Tonguing softly,
“My love, my heart and my purpose
I knew from day one the price of this purchase.
I understood what I would pay to be your accomplice.
Each day I play my part.
Running into road bumps, stumbled and fell,
But a heart of forgiveness saved me from hell.
Opening your life to my touch and caress,
Giving me the opportunity to plant my garden.
Each day we talk or experience together,
I try my best to hold you with compassion,
Seeds of my love secretly soaking into your blood,
Without even understanding you found it harder to oppress.
Fighting inside your habitual tendencies to attack through my vest.
You gave me consideration, love and attention.
Helping me comprehend what is required to complete my mission.
Finally reaching my time of confession,
The plan is simple it is unconditional love in the face of rejection.
I have spent my life trying to open my heart.
Longing to love those that give me a chance to impart.
Day after day I pushed them away, a mirror image of who you are today.
Like the light that shines from the sun,
You came into my life and I knew it was my turn.
Seeming impossible an insurmountable hill,
My God and family were great examples on how to climb this hill.
Thank you for giving me this time to grow,
Giving me this opportunity to show,
Show all the people I have hurt in my past,
That I am capable of unconditional love at last.”
