peace be with me
for i am at war
no universal victor
but victimized by the wind
i offer a treaty of harmony
you say goodbye with a destructive bomb
leaving a mass searching
for pearls in a harbour
of discontent united
three superpowers destroyed
me, myself and i
by your self-prosperous good aim
here's to your "boom" of glory

i'll always need a friend, one i can defend.

This is the icing on the cake to my evening of such great poems.
"leaving a mass searching,
for pearls in a harbour."
Cue: Cry on that line. Every once in a while you have your own bomb and you drop it on me, like this poem. Now, I am just going to say it straight. I loved this. Work of art, or words, as it may be.

Eve, this was phenominal.
And such a universal simile you used with eloquence.

Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere

Better to go out in glory than to fade away.  That thought is crazy.  Peace is absent.  Nice write,

I was actually looking for another one you wrote, but "peace be with you" is somewhat like what Jesus says, "Peace be still" and it caught my attention.  Althought I still say the "boom" couldn't have been that prosperous unless it was a kind of martyrdom for Christ.  But I have some doubts about that.  Just a thought.

Now off to find that original poem I was looking for.
