Lady In Green Velvet (His Thoughts)

He stands on his veranda smoking his favorite cigar.
Thinking of the lady with the auburn hair and flashing eyes.
He has hardened his heart, he will not forgive.
Her words
of
“I’m sorry.......Please forgive”
do not touch his angered heart.
Her eyes flashing like the fires below-
Her stinging words pouring out untruths saying,
I’m nothing more than an old Scrooge, a tyrant,
and a wicked old man.
As he readies for bed he thinks to himself
“I’m not old.”
As he falls into sleep he begins to dream.
He sees an old man his staff raised high screaming.
No!
Do not cry to me of the darkening night, of family in need.
No!
Do not tell me of your starving child who begs in the street,
five pennies a week is surely enough.
A lady on a stallion of white saying in fiery words.
“You’re a Scrooge, a tyrant, and a wicked old man.
You Sir!Change your ways or my hand in marriage I will not give.”
As he tosses and turns, he hears the deafing roar of a pounding river that
crashes over his angry heart making him awake with a curdling scream.
As he gazes around the room he touches his dampened cheeks and stills
his frightened heart.
He places a robes about his shaking shoulders and thinks.
Just a dream, just a nasty dream.
Standing looking out at the misty meadow he thinks
of
The Lady In Green Velvet.
I will not forgive.
"I am not old".

Absolutely fantastic Bonnie, and sure would like to see you write some prose, and post it.  Great story telling here, and could be a short story as well if continued?  Happy Holidays.

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
