Near golden sunsets

And so here I lay
In fear of what my closing eyes unveil
Another long night of good memories
That only haunt me after I wake

And so here I lay
Too scared to try again
Humming notes that break my heart all over
Pushing you out of my mind

And so here I lay
Tracing the cracks in the ceiling
Counting the colors in the dark
Trying not to dream

It is hard when the body wants and needs sleep but the mind...yes the mind wants to stay on and think..think...
